Cheska is a certified Yoga Alliance® yoga teacher who believes in a systematic approach to applying yogic traditions to modern bodies of today. Her style of teaching incorporates the practices of yogic sages and modern scientific perspectives of neuroscience, psychology, physiology and anatomy to create an experience of personal understanding and development. At the centre of her teaching lies the essential foundations of any physical practice, - breath work - which stimulates the vital energies of the body, providing strength, conditioning and balance to the body's systems. This renders a rich experience of inner strength and clarity. It also informs correct, stable and empowered postural alignment. Without breath there is no yoga, no core strength and no stillness of the mind.
When the body, breath and mind are cohesively aligned, it then becomes possible to express power, with ease and grace. Once these attitudes are applied in the studio, they begin to seep into daily life, resulting in an ability to meet challenges with a sense of peace and self-mastery.
Cheska uses the elements of yoga to enhance her movement practices for actors, teaches tailor made yoga classes for different disciplines, alongside coaching privately.
